Obviously, strangers don't just choose to "donate" money to someone they don't know most of the time, so I'd like to help you get to know me better! This will be in the form of a Q&A:
1. Why did you start this blog?
Because I have bad teeth caused by pregnancy and need close to $10,000 worth of dental work. We have no insurance. Also, I will have to be sedated for some of it.
2. Don't you work?
Yes, both my husband and I work. We make enough to pay the bills.
3. Why will you need to be sedated for some of your dental work?
When I was a child, my dentist would drink while working on my teeth, and caused me pain. I have an extreme fear of dentists.
4. Tell me about your family:
I have two children, ages 4 and under a year. I will not tell too much about them for privacy reasons.
5. I would like to donate but need verification--can you provide this?
If you have a substantial amount you would like to donate, please post your email, and I can send you verification that I am not some weird scammer from the Pacific rim. Of course I will need some ID verification from you also, as I do not want to give out personal information to just anyone.
6. How do you take donations?
Through the paypal button at the bottom of the blog.
7. Will you provide updates?
I will provide weekly updates about the amount of donations received, and as I am able to get the dental work done, I will even post receipts (with sensitive information blacked out), and finally, I will post pictures of my teeth when they are fixed.
8. Will you post pictures of your teeth now?
It's something to consider, but I am REALLY sensitive about my teeth as they are currently.
9. What is in this for me?
Doing good for someone else. Also, if you have a website, I will post a link to it on this blog for you.
10. Why won't you just get dentures?
Because I am still very young. Obviously, if I don't raise the money, I'll end up with dentures.
11. What if donations exceed the amount required to get your work done?
Then I would like to donate to other moms who can't afford to get their teeth fixed. It's sad that we live in the greatest nation on earth but dental work isn't considered "necessary", just "cosmetic", so health insurance doesn't cover it.
The paypal address is below, so if you feel like contributing, thank you SO MUCH! If you prefer to send a check, email me or post on this blog.
savemyteethnow@yahoo.com (For paypal donations).
I'm going to try to get a button fixed up.
